Fall Retreat Dates

Welcome to our very first Academy Awards.  I know you have all been waiting for this special occasion to be honored at Lake Okoboji.  The time has finally come to lay out the red carpet and celebrate the celebrities we have among us.  We are with each other twice a year but some of us do not realize the talent our friends and fellow sewists posess.   This year we will have all kinds of special events planned for our retreat and we want you to be a part of it. You can also work on quick gifts with mini classes offered throughout the week to make smaller projects. For those attending this retreat there will be plenty time to finish up your UFO’s or just projects you have been wanting to finish. Bring all of your quilting items with you so that you can make yourself at home. 

We all speak "Quilt" so communication should be easy. You can arrive anytime after 7 am Wednesday and stay through until Sunday at 3:00 pm for the weekend retreat or Wednesday after brunch for the week long retreat.  Clover Cottage will once again bring fabric, kits, notions and quilting supplies for your enjoyment. Their shop will be open and available to all of you who are participating in retreat. We appreciate all they do to bring the store to us. It is always so great to have them on site. 

Your meals will be made for you by the "Magnificent Kevin”.
Our menu will once again be a Brunch - Dinner meal schedule. If you have dietary concerns please let our chef, Kevin, know. All meals will be offered beginning with dinner on Wednesday evening. We will also have a snack table so feel free to bring some treats to share with your fellow retreaters.  If it is something we can’t resist bring along the recipe.

Mindy will be with us offering pedicures, manicures, haircuts and more.  These extras will be offered throughout the weekend.  Codi will be back offering massages, I know many of you enjoyed both of the lady’s services last spring.

You will need to bring a top sheet, pillows and towels. Each room in Alta house has a queen bed and several standard twins. 

The Academy Awards Ceremony will be Saturday night following dinner.  It is a formal event, whatever that means to you.  The paparazzi will be there so keep that in mind.  We will follow the awards with our Show and Tell.  We hope you will all participate. We love to see what projects everyone has completed during the year.

We are looking forward to fun filled days, great meals and wonderful and productive sewing sessions.
