Quilter's Get-A-Way 2026
February 25th - March 4th

Okoboji 2026 Spring Retreat Red, White and Blessed -
Grateful for freedom, faith, and the people we love.
I am excited to be getting ready for our 2026 Spring Okoboji Retreat. We have never had a patriotic theme. It's time to acknowledge our country will celebrate 250 years in existence.
We should never forget that we have the freedom to gather and do what we love not just for a week but for the entire year if that is what we want to do. We are truly Blessed to be in a country that allows us the freedoms we have.
This year we will have all kinds of special activities planned for our retreat and we want you to be a part of it. Courtenay Hughes will be teaching her Lone Star Celebration Class. If you are interested in taking her class please sign up for it when you register. Details such as supplies, etc….will be included in the confirmation email you will receive after registration. You can also work on quick gifts with mini classes offered throughout the week.
For those attending this retreat there will be plenty time to work on projects you have been wanting to finish. Bring all of your quilting items with you so that you can make yourself at home. We all speak "Quilt" so communication should be easy.
You can arrive anytime after 7 am Wednesday and stay through until Sunday at 3:00 pm for the weekend retreat or Wednesday after brunch for the week long retreat.
Clover Cottage will once again bring fabric, kits, notions and quilting supplies for your enjoyment. Their shop will be open and available to all of you who are participating. We appreciate all they do to bring the store to us. It is always so great to have them on site.
We will have a lottery quilt and you will be receiving information on that. I hope to contribute some blocks to make quilts for veterans. I always love a nice service project.
Your meals will be made for you by the "Magnificent Kevin”. Our menu will once again be a Brunch - Dinner meal schedule. If you have dietary concerns please let our chef, Kevin, know when you arrive. All meals will be offered beginning with dinner on Wednesday evening.
We will also have a snack table so feel free to bring some treats to share with your fellow retreaters. If it is something we can’t resist bring along the recipe
Mindy will be with us offering pedicures, manicures, haircuts and more. These extras will be offered throughout the weekend. Codi will be back offering massages, I know many of you enjoyed both of the lady’s services last spring.
You will need to bring a top sheet, pillows, blankets or quilts and towels. Each room in Alta house has a queen bed and several standard twins so you can decide with your roommates where you will sleep. Christopher house has mostly twin beds. The new retreat building has all twins but two queen beds I will let those who have queen beds know so they can bring the correct bedding.
We will have Show and Tell Saturday night following dinner. We hope you will all participate. We love to see what projects everyone has completed during the year. Michael Nardi of Bryn Mawr Quilts will present a mini trunk show on Saturday night. His trunk show will feature his new line of fabric coming out in the fall with Andover. We are looking forward to fun filled days, great meals and wonderful and productive sewing sessions.
All the best,
Susan
