Quilter's Get-A-Way 2023

SOLD OUT

Hello quilting friends,

There are lots of new and exciting things happening at our Spring Okoboji Retreat this year.  I believe our retreat will be memorable with some changes.  I always love to head north for our retreats and I enjoy preparing for our time together.  Everyone at this retreat have become such good friends through the years and I honestly look forward to seeing each one of you in the spring to catch up with you and your lives.

Our camp dates this year are February 20 - 26, 2023.  I had a conflict with the formally chosen dates and March was full.  After meeting in March for the past 20 years we will alter a little this year but hoping to get back to our regular dates in March or April soon.

It is a new year and along with a fresh start comes a new Quilt Shop joining us for their very first time.  Clover Cottage of Emmetsburg, Iowa will be our vendor for this spring’s retreat.  They will be closing down their shop and moving to our camp for the entire week. .  I am excited to introduce Joni and her staff to you!  They will offer fabrics, kits, books, patterns and notions.  It is a huge undertaking to bring your shop to a retreat.  Let’s welcome them in a big way and let them know how much we appreciate all of their hard work.

We will also welcome back Jenny Doan to our spring retreat.  It is such a joy for me when Jenny decides to join us for our retreat.  Jenny will teach a couple small classes and Jeanne Johnson will also be showing some small projects.  Patterns will be provided and as usual all classes are optional.

All That Information You Need

A Monday Night Project and a Mystery Quilt will be offered by Clover Cottage. (Kits from Clover Cottage will be available for both)

All meals will be covered Monday Dinner through Sunday Brunch. We will also have a snack table so feel free to bring some treats to share with your fellow retreaters.

Pedicures, manicures, haircuts and more await you. These extras will be offered throughout the weekend. You can speak with Mindy to schedule your "prettiness" appointments.

You will need to bring linens and towels. Each room has a queen bed and several standard twins.

Show and Tell will be Saturday night . We hope you will all participate. We love to see what projects everyone has completed during the year.

We are looking forward to fun filled days, great meals and wonderfully, productive sewing sessions.

Susan Brown- Our fearless leader.  Has been doing some handwork; or, as she puts it "airplane  work". She made these wool applique' ornaments and is working on her EPP project.
Rita Nau - I found a great hand project to work on.  There is now a 10" loom for those potholders we used to make as kids.  I am making matching dishcloths as well.
